More easy listening for you –some new age flavor here. Plain White T’s have this fresh sound that has influences from many punk/rock bands. They have a mix of everyone in them but some of their songs like “Hey There Delilah” are so original. It’s been playing on the radio a lot here in Bangalore and I guess everyone relates to it real well and likes it a lot. Their other songs are not half as bad too lol…..quite good really. Do get this when you can, as usual you can always email me for the torrent (comes with a nice video of “Hey There Delilah”)
I was reading about the band and here is some info -
“Born in the suburbs of Chicago, lead singer Tom Higgenson was originally fascinated with the drums, performing in various pop and rock bands in high school. One of these groups was Harvey's Daughter, where he met bass player Ken Fletcher. The group disbanded but another was re-formed, with Higgenson taking over lead duties as songwriter and singer. Friend and drummer Dave Tirio joined and, in the fall of 1997, the pop-punk group was formed. Plain White T’s performed around various Chicago clubs gaining a small but devout following. In the summer of 1999, Higgenson was almost killed in a car accident. The event, which resulted in a ruptured kidney and lacerated lung, gave him a newfound appreciation for life. As a result, the songwriting process grew and the band was being noticed.
The group self-released Come on Over in 2001, then jumped to Fearless for the 2002 LP Stop. Plain White T's struggled with lineup shifts even as they toured heavily in support of the album, but were able to muster up the record All That We Needed, released through Fearless in early 2005. By that point the band's roster had solidified with vocalist Higgenson, Tirio and Tim Lopez on guitar, drummer De'Mar Hamilton, and bassist Mike Retondo. The band next spent time on the 2005 Take Action tour alongside Head Automatica, and more. They finished out the year touring with Spitalfield, joining up with Motion City Soundtrack in 2006. The enhanced EP Hey There Delilah was released that May; it contained various versions of the popular acoustic ballad "Hey There Delilah" (from All That We Needed), along with four new songs and music videos. Most of the following summer was then spent on Warped Tour before Every Second Counts, their hook-laden major-label debut for Hollywood, appeared in early September. The guys then hit the road on the popular Nintendo Fusion Tour alongside Hawthorne Heights, the Sleeping, and more."

Male or FEMALE ....brains?????????????

Is your brain male or female? BBC has the answer in a nifty online quiz that aims to tell you if you think like the typical man or the typical woman.
If you're curious about what your actual gender means for your brain (and diseases), check out this BBC story.
It takes about 25 minutes to complete the test.It took me a lot more cause I got disconnected once in the middle but from the on it was smooth sailing.
Wanna know my results?? I've saved them like a good boy.....I'll email them to you if you email me YOURS....nothing to worry, I wont sell your results to a tabloid for millions of dollars.
Something interesting to do if you have the time and are interested. Personally I found this really engrossing, the tests are of ALL imaginable types and IF you like taking tests you'll enjoy this. I didn't feel like a retest but you can do one if you want to verify what you get at the end.
Tips - Keep a scale handy (you'll know why later hahaha)

The eternal torment of my reality –
you can't just leave me.
Breathe into me and make me real
Bring me to life.” – Evanescence
“To follow you
I am not content,
How do I know
Which way you went.”
Is this appropriate?? This sums up what’s been in my mind, to say the least. After thinking up that shadowy dark title for this post it’s so happened that I’ve left you feeling rather light hearted. Wasn’t my intention to have everyone wallow away in my loss but then again my main aim has been to look forward and be positive , so POSITIVE I SHALL BE!!!
I have made some decisions. I’m going to write more here, I don’t know how many of you will read what I say or whether or not my words make any sense to you, nevertheless it’s important that I utilize this medium in a way in which it benefits me – by writing more. I will post silly pictures though and write nonsense occasionally (more often than not in most cases) but yes I want to see how this develops over the year. Emails to everyone on this next November (please remind me as I do like shirking away from common one-sided group emails).
Some more –
“He got a fish-bone in his throat
and then he sang an angel note.”
–Poor bloke (I don’t mind going this way!!)
Very appealing ha ha –
“He lived
And died
By suicide“
Here lies Pa.

Ma caught Pa in with two swimmin.

Now I ain't again.
Ill miss you :-)

My weekend movie pick - 2

.......All that, and it has a twist :-) which I'm not gonna tell haha so watch it. This movie has the usual Jet Li's high flying action (this time he actually uses guns....and speaks english haha) with Jason Statham doing justice to his role.
The plot - An FBI Agent seeks vengeance on a mysterious assassin known as "Rogue" who murdered his partner. (NOPE its not Bollywood inspired - doesnt read "Partner had 5 children who all grew up become action stars also seeking revenge" anywhere!!!)
War" could have really been something amazing in that regard because we have two reasonably capable stars (Jet Li and Jason Statham) going head-to-head, toe-to-toe, big time, for the first time in a long time, on the big screen. This is something that even the most distinguished action movie fan would not have thought possible for a very long while. But sifting through the screenplay by Lee Anthony Smith and Gregory J. Bradley is too much of a chore, even if the movie suffers in a number of spots because of it.
The plot, as confusing and twisted as it is, begins with the brutal murder of an F.B.I. agent and his family. His partner, Jack Crawford (Statham), swears bloody vengeance on the mysterious assassin "Rogue" (Li), who is also playing rival Triad and yakuza crime families against each other. That's really all that can be described without giving away plot details that will lead to a somewhat convoluted "big twist" ending.
n the end, "War" is yet another Hollywood action flick to serve up some sort of originality in East meets West culture-clashing. But like a lot of these flicks, much gets lost in the translation and as usual, your hopes for a truly good action film. But other than that, "War" makes up for its short-falls in stylish action scenes and the dedication Li has to the material.
Rating - 7/10

1>Alter Bridge - BlackBird (2007) -
Watch their video - "Rise Today" on http://www.alterbridge.com/.....really Good!!I am listening to this album right now and believe me, those hard hitting guitar notes and real lyrics have made me remember why I like Alter Bridge so much and how painful the wait for their second album has been. I was a fan of CREED and after they split discovered how amazing Alter Bridge is. Mark Tremonti will always remain one of my favorite guitarists (someone I used to try and emulate with an old acoustic guitar in a locked room with the volume real high ha ha)
This album has a fresh feel to it while retaining all the elements of that original sound that I love so much
Some history for you - The evolution of Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall as artists is marked with the debut of Alter Bridge. The shared vision of the band seemed to coincide with a concept from Tremonti's youth, and the name 'Alter Bridge' was born. The name comes from a long-standing bridge near Tremonti's childhood home in Detroit, which was often regarded as a boundary to the children in surrounding neighborhoods; beyond it was uncharted territory.
This band displays a respect for the roots of where rock came from. The lineage for the material ultimately draws its closest connection to the Seventies. Given the history that Tremonti, Phillips and Marshall have together, there is obviously a natural continuity that still exists between Creed and Alter Bridge, yet there are new and significant dynamics in Alter Bridge's music that can definitely be pointed to.
Listen to this if you like rock music.2> Athlete - Beyond the Neighborhood (2007) -
This album released UK September 3rd 2007 and due to be released in the U.S.A. on September 25th 2007. Athlete is an indie rock band formed in Deptford, London, comprising Joel Pott [lead vocals and guitar], Carey Willetts [bass and backing vocals], Stephen Roberts [drums and backing vocals] and Tim Wanstall [keyboards and backing vocals]. Recently, the quartet has recruited Jonny Pilcher as a live guitarist. Friends since the age of fourteen, Athlete took their wide ranging influences such as Grandaddy and The Flaming Lips and started jamming and practicing in the basement of The Bear, a pub which was converted into a church and sandwich bar, on Deptford High Street in 1999. They began recording there, before sending demos out. Signing with Regal Recordings, they released their first single in February 2002. The band came to prominence in 2003 with their debut album, 'Vehicles And Animals', producing popular singles such as 'You Got the Style' and 'El Salvador'. The album earned a Mercury Music Prize nomination and went on to sell over 250,000 copies. Their second album, 'Tourist', reached No.1 in the UK Album Charts in its first week, following the huge success of single 'Wires', which, in 2006, won them the Ivor Novello Award for "Best Contemporary Song".
They have a nice “easy on the ears” kinda sound which you’ll fall in love with instantly. Their music makes me daydream – very relaxing.

Retro Desktop

I was in a courier place sending a parcel out when I laid eyes on this baby:-0 quite shocking. Who with a sane mind could design something this grotesque?? Fine, the idea of a budget Pc appeals to me too but this is ridiculously embarrassing. They actually placed the LAN port on the SIDE of the monitor which connects to the TOP... What is that for?? Interfacings with itself! Ha how smart is that!! It looks like the PC is on drips or something. Pretty handy don’t you think?? I was tempted to ask them to switch it on but wondered if that was a safe idea so didn’t. Is this how all computers of the future are gonna look like? Wow they did this to the PC – just imagine what they’ll do to the designs of cars, bikes, GIRLS!!
Scary thought.
Want one?? I take orders now (my version of this looks a lot better – I have stickers of my face all over it see…that’s called over-clocking…it’s a performance booster that’s getting popular in the middle east (of Siberia))
In case you think otherwise-they use it, I mean do computer stuff on it (apart from using it as a large paper weight), and probably love it too, might even have a name (I'm guessing Jogi??)

Some foresight needed......
Today?
Bangalore is a lovely city to drive in - provided you have the right equipment -

Once you've procured that you need to be prepared to face interesting challenges.
Like driving around this -

Or this -

I really love driving though, the wind in your face, dust in your eyes...the changes in emotions (and fragrances) from one neighborhood to the next...The sights and sounds of different other organisms that certainly want a piece of the road (and leave a lot of their pieces on it as well ohh)
For those of you who've have had the pleasure of sitting behind me while driving - thank God and pray often, and for those who are not reading this cause of unforeseen unfortunate circumstances..well I'm STILL ALIVE!!!hahaha :-)

My weekend movies pick

Saw this movie today – 3:10 to Yuma –
The plot – “A small-time rancher agrees to hold a captured outlaw who's awaiting a train to go to court in Yuma. A battle of wills ensues as the outlaw tries to psych out the rancher. “–this is what I read before watching it.
I am so impressed. The action and tension remain constant throughout but, more importantly, the plot is compelling and the acting is terrific.
Russell Crowe is brilliant as the arrogant, amoral outlaw Ben Wade and Christian Bales infuses his role as a beleaguered rancher and Civil War veteran with just the right mix of pathos and dignity. It really was wonderful to see Peter Fonda be given a role in which he was allowed to demonstrate his genuine talent. Logan Lerman plays Bales' teenage son who comes of age in the course of the film- and does a terrific job and deserves the accolades that he shall surely get. Initially disillusioned with a father whom he sees as drudge and a failure, he eventually recognizes his father as the hero he is (or at least becomes). I’ve seen Christian Bale in “The Prestige” and he was fantastic in that one and he lived up to my expectations here with his really neat acting. No doubt many will be impressed by Ben Foster's affected performance as Russell Crowe's loyal but psychopathic sidekick (think Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow) but to my taste it was much too over the top in a cast that offered a number of subtle and well thought out performances.
Cinematically-this film ranks up there with the best westerns of all time. It is consistently beautiful to watch and captures the expanse and majesty of the American west as well as any movie I've ever seen.
In many respects this is a traditional western (it is a remake, after all). They really don't make movies like this much anymore and it will be interesting to see whether it finds an audience in this era of “Saas Bahu Lunatics” and people who are used to seeing 3 hour long no-shows and plot less sagas (involving item girls and group dances).
Showing it to my parents in the evening, let’s see what they think about it.

Rating – 8.5/10 for sure

1> James Blunt - All the lost souls (2007)

A former British Army officer, singer/songwriter James Blunt is a thoughtful performer with a knack for crafting melodic contemporary soft rock tunes. Born in Tidworth, Wiltshire, England in 1974 to a family with a long military history,Blunt entered the army after graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Ultimately achieving the rank of captain he served with the NATO peacekeeping force in Kosovo and finished out his time in the military as a member of the Life Guard Regiment in the British Household Cavalry. Having long been interested in music, wasted no time in pursuing a pop career after leaving the army. This torrent has his songs along with the video of 1973..

2> Travis – Boy with no name (2007)

Following Oasis' lead of crafting down-to-earth, heartfelt songs in the vein of classic British bands from the '60s, Travis was more successful and enduring than some of their peers due to their lively, impassioned songwriting and performances. The group formed in Glasgow around 1990 as something of a lark for its members, singer/songwriter Francis Healy, guitarist Andy Dunlop, drummer Neil Primrose, and bassist Dougie Payne. After finishing their studies at art school a few years later, the foursome became more serious about Travis potential and moved to London in 1996.
I just loved this album – really lovely music…wow. This torrent includes there video too – “Closer” – loved the song

3> Snow Patrol – Eyes Open (2006)

Featuring a dynamic fusion of several alternative stylistic touchstones, Snow Patrol’s compositions combine songwriting aptitude with guitar rock's sharpest strains. Originally
from Northern Ireland, Gary Lightbody (vocals, guitar) and Mark McClelland (bass, keyboards) first got together in Dundee, Scotland, where they were studying, prior to the addition of Jonny Quinn (drums), who completed the lineup. Signed to the U.K.'s Jeepster label in 1998, they released their debut album, Songs for Polar Bears, in August of that same year. The record was a large success across the U.K., where they also gained a large fan base for their live show. The British trio graduated soon after, and decided to move from Dundee to Glasgow in late 2000. Their second full-length, When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up, was released in April 2001. Quickly thereafter, guitarist Nathan Connolly was added to the group, and Snow Patrol found themselves a deal with Polydor.
I was listening to this in the afternoon and it was just sweet. Another album I recommend.

Chicken Grill Adventures 1
This is part one in my search for where in Bangalore you can get the best of my latest addiction – “Chicken Grill”. This is where we went today, a place in Jayanagar called Mughal Durbar.
We thought it would be closed as today’s the day before Id but it was open in the evening. My two partners in crime (Pritu and Praharsha) and I got a comfortable place to sit and ordered two things – A full Grilled Chicken and half a plate of Tandoor Chicken. They arrived after twenty minutes or so and we dug in straight away :-)
Quality – 7/10
Qualtity – 9/10
Price – 9/10
Quality – 8/10
Quantity – 8/10
Price – 8/10
(We’ll do a retest in future to confirm these results ha ha he he)
PS - We actually ate other stuff after the above... roties with buttes chicken and chilly chicken but they shall be mentioned in a different series should I start one."DOTA"-eye??
Anyway after a 10pm to 3am gaming session I discovered I have something called “DOTA”-eyes!!
Here have a look – pretty??
Ya I know it’s a rage (wow I’m a model now).. the only thing I’ve done here is stop the government from forcing me to donate my eyes. Sorry to disappoint all those waiting in line though – you can have Ashwariya’s and Hema Malini’s eyes but mine will probably be concealed in a small lab bottle and studied for the betterment of mankind!!
Wondering what DOTA is?? Its Defence Of The Ancient – sounds dumb right? They were going to name it “Lazy Dolly wants to play” but that was just obscene and the lawsuits it would bring would make everyone bankrupt so this worked nicely. For more on DOTA please google it…I can go on and on about it and it would affect the sanity of this blog (the scales are already tipping!!)
A Mall Insider

Ah!! Our fascination with shopping!! The amount of people inside our malls here on weekends is incredible-seems like the entire population lands up in them.
Sure they have nice shops, multiplexes, eating places and cute girls and they look squeaky clean at times (maybe because the crowds that pool in bathe regularly lol).
Quite silly posting mall pictures in a blog – especially these ones (Oh this is FORUM mall by the way)
Thought I'd snoop around a bit and see-viola the roof!!
Oh yes found a place where people express themselves (mostly non-blogger types ha ha)-
A secret passageway??
Leads to nice entry points from the top..(Must I expose all their security??)-
Wonder who leaves this door open cause if you walk down that you'll find lots of knobs to turn and loose wires to dangle from!!
Naa,its a pretty fun place to hang out here and we all have for some reason a couple of days in a year there :-) (and taken sad pictures too like the ones in front of the audi...ya gotcha!!)
Ze Uno Post!!!

Bright Sunny Day - My brain quick boots the moment I wake up (Since I hardly dream/Never use it to much) and well dribble starts to form. If this blog slowly develops into a photo blog-assume I'm getting smarter (isn't this a dumb idea???)
Ok First post done..!!
